Customers Flip For Breakfast Served at Aurora Pancake House

For nearly 70 years the Aurora Pancake House has been nourishing early risers and breakfast lovers in the Aurora area with something on the menu to please every palate. When current owner Jesus Arceo purchased the restaurant in 1997, he was sure to keep the customer favorites while expanding the offerings with his own touches.
"The Aurora Pancake House is a destination eatery in the heart of Aurora," he says. "(We have) kept the restaurant's claim-to-fame pancake recipes and customers' favorite dishes, plus added more to the menu and treat customers to new dishes every month."
Some of the restaurant's specialty pancakes include the oven baked apple pancakes made with fresh apples and cinnamon sugar, German pancakes prepared with lemon and powdered sugar, Swedish pancakes that feature imported Lingon berries, chocolate chip pancakes, and classic buttermilk and buckwheat pancakes.
Food portions are generous and gluten-free options are also available. The restaurant also serves omelets and other classic breakfast dishes such as bacon, eggs, and biscuits as well as ethnic dishes such as chilaquiles, an omelet that contains cheese, tortilla strips, and a spicy sauce. Sandwiches, appetizers, salads, and desserts including what the website calls "the best apple cake in the valley area" round out the menu items.
Aurora Pancake House was established during post-WWII America and thus, still contains touches that evoke its vintage past. "On our walls you can see pictures donated by customers of how Aurora used to look at different stages in time, like the train station in 1922 or downtown Aurora in 1935," explains Arceo. "Customers can travel down memory lane."
The family restaurant is suitable for all types of customers, whether one is having a small family gathering, a business meal, or just wants to sit and savor a cup of coffee. The rustic-style building offers free Wi-Fi.
New additions to the menu include a Homemade Banana Nut Multi-grain pancake combo with eggs, fruit and sausage. For Arceo, his favorite dish on the menu is a new recipe that pays homage to the California coast. "I'd have to say that our San Diego breakfast represents us well on how we see the new American breakfast," he says. "(It's) a fusion between the old and the new with a charbroiled beef patty topped with sliced tomatoes and poached eggs dressed with our signature chipotle hollandaise sauce, topped garnish with fresh avocado and served next to three signature potato cakes."
The restaurant is open daily at 6 AM until 3 PM except for Sundays when it stays open until 4 PM.
